Day 2: Palm Springs Air Museum
In the morning, board your motorcoach for an exciting driving tour of beautiful Palm Springs. You’ll cruise past homes of stars like Carey Grant and Frank Sinatra, and learn the local history. Enjoy lunch on your own. In the afternoon, visit the fascinating Palm Springs Air Museum. Opened in 1996, it is designed to provide insight regarding the role of the World War II combat aircraft, the pilots and American citizens had in winning the war. (B)
Day 3: Happy Thanksgiving!
Start your holiday with a journey to Joshua Tree National Park, distinguished by the many native Joshua trees that grow there as well as the incredible rock formations. The Park also provides a habitat for many species of plants, reptiles, mammals and birds. Also, visit Pioneertown, the village that started as a live-in Old West motion picture set, built in the 1940s. The set was designed to provide a place for the actors to live, and at the same time use their homes as a movie set. Return to Palm Springs for your Thanksgiving Day Feast at your hotel. This evening, you may wish to stroll along Palm Canyon Drive, and look into the many new shops and art galleries or stroll to the Spa Casino for some gambling fun. (B,D)
Day 4: The Living Desert
After a leisurely breakfast, visit The Living Desert Zoo and Botanical Garden. With over 450 animals, it specializes in endangered desert species and plants. The Living Desert is more than a collection of exhibits; it is also a nature preserve. Return home. (B)
