Itinerary

Days 1 & 2: En Route
If China is on your bucket list, this tour includes many meals and deluxe hotels at a nominal price.  Check in at LAX for your China Eastern flight to Shanghai. A light dinner will be served after arrival at your hotel.  (D)
Day 3: Shanghai
Walk with your guide along the Bund, pass by the charming French Concession Area, visit a silk-weaving workshop, pause at the Old Town Bazar, and explore the world-class Shanghai Museum.  Enjoy a special Welcome Dinner this evening.  (B, L, D)
Day 4: Shanghai to Hong Kong
The morning is at leisure until you check-in for your flight to Hong Kong.  Your guide will be with you on the ride on the peak tram to the top of Victoria Peak, where you will see the famous Victoria Harbor.  You’ll also pass by Repulse Bay and the fishing village of Aberdeen, where you may want to take an optional Sampan Ride.  After dinner, don’t miss the largest lighting and music show in the world, a Symphony of Lights.  (B, L, D)
Day 5: Hong Kong
This is a free day in Hong Kong to shop in the myriad of stores. (B)
Day 6: Hong Kong to Xi'an
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Xi’an, the ancient capital of China.  Look forward to a group dinner this evening. (B, L, D)
Day 7: Xi'an
Morning visit to see the incredible Terra Cotta Warriors—one emperor’s attempt to immortalize his dynasty, which has stood guard over his tomb for 2,000 years!  After a dumpling lunch, visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda and Xi’an’s City Wall.  This evening, you may want to see an optional Tang Dynasty show, one of the most colorful shows in China. (Additional $45 per person)  (B, L, D)
Day 8: Xi'an to Beijing
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Beijing,  the capital of China. The remainder of the day is free. (B, L, D)
Day 9: Beijing
Begin your day watching the locals get their morning exercise at a nearby park. Then, visit the Temple of Heaven and Tian’anmen Square  before exploring  the awe-inspiring Forbidden City, once an Imperial Palace. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant this evening. (B, L, D)
Day 10: Beijing
Take a morning excursion to a portion of the Great Wall of China to stroll its ancient ramparts.  We’ll also stop at the site of the 2008 Summer Olympics, often called the Bird’s Nest due to its distinctive architecture.  A Peking Duck dinner is planned this evening as a fond farewell to China. (B, L, D)
Day 11: Home
Transfer to the airport for our flight back to Los Angeles. (B)
